The Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) is an armed Ugandan rebel group that has been terrorizing regions in central Africa for nearly a decade. Many of the combatants in the LRA were abducted as children either in Uganda, DR Congo, Central African Republic of South Sudan and are held in captivity, forced to commit mass atrocities against their will. One of the most effective strategies for ending LRA violence has been defection, or 'Come Home', messaging encouraging these fighters to escape the rebel group and peacefully surrender. Invisible Children develops defection fliers that are then distributed along paths frequently traveled by LRA groups, or airdropped directly over LRA camps in central Africa.
